Every fall, a team of volunteers from UU Wellesley Hills travels north to Camp Starfish in Rindge, NH for a weekend. Camp Starfish is a special-needs summer camp that serves children with behavioral issues who have difficulty adjusting to traditional camp settings. We work with the Starfish staff to prepare for the next camp season, and our volunteer include adults and youth, families and children. Folks of all ages throw themselves into hands-on work projects both large and small, and over the years, we have completed a series of construction and renovation projects for Starfish. While making significant contributions to the beauty and utility of the camp buildings and grounds, we also managed to forge strong bonds with each other.
