Inspired by our Unitarian Universalist heritage and principles, the Social Justice Council serves as a catalyst for social change through service, education, witness, and advocacy. We provide opportunities for the congregation to deepen its awareness and understanding of injustice and build the skills necessary for effective action. We facilitate programs and partner with others to collectively make a difference in our local communities and the larger world.
We are called to work for:
- Human Rights--Affirming the inherent worth and dignity of every person
- Economic Justice---Promoting equity and strengthening the social safety net
- Environmental Sustainability--Protecting the interdependent web of existence
- Just Peace--Encouraging collaborative affiliations and non-violent conflict resolution
