Camp Starfish, located in Rindge, NH, is a unique summer camp for children with emotional and behavioral challenges. UU Wellesley has had an on-going, supportive connection with the camp, providing hands-on assistance to improve its buildings and grounds, as well as funds to upgrade its facilities.
For many years now, our youth have traveled to Starfish for an overnight service-learning experience; UU Wellesley adults and children join them for a full service day on Saturday. We work with the Starfish staff to prepare for the next camp season, helping to make their creative ideas a reality. In the process, we have developed new skills, had a lot of fun, and forged stronger bonds. The experience has become a meaningful retreat for all involved.
