Our UU Partners Ministry Team seeks to collect, under one umbrella, social justice activities and initiatives that are connected to larger denominational affiliations. We aim to deepen our connection to the Unitarian Universalist denomination, joining forces with other UUs to tackle social justice issues across the globe. We believe that by strengthening our existing affiliations and by exploring new ones, we can more fully realize the potential of our faith and have a greater impact. Guided by our UU Principles, we seek to affirm and promote the goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all.
Our current affiliations include the UU Service Committee, the UU Urban Ministry, the UU Partner Church Council, and UU Mass Action. We are also supporting the humanitarian and development efforts of the Unitarian Church of Burundi, Africa; some of us were present for the launch of their Dutabare Foundation in April 2014. We are working to promote a stronger focus by UU Wellesley on social justice issues that have been chosen for study and action by UUs across the nation at our annual General Assembly; we will collaborate with Adult Learning organizers to develop ways to build our understanding of "Escalating Inequality" and how we can work to level the playing field for all.
