In May, 2000, UU Wellesley voted to become an official Welcoming Congregation.  This is a formal designation for congregations within the Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations and indicates that we have made a commitment to those who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender.  We, as individuals and as a congregation, will oppose discrimination and seek justice for this population and for all those who are marginalized and denied full acceptance.  We welcome this work as an opportunity to live out our Unitarian Universalist values and principles, and we share in the hope that one day there will be equality for all.

In May 2010, we celebrated our 10 year anniversary as a Welcoming Congregation by rededicating ourselves to LGBTQ rights and by marching in the annual Wellesley town parade. For more information about LGBTQ-related activities, contact our LGBTQ Interest Group HERE.
